How it works

How a hosted Japan trip works, from application to published post

There are four steps. You apply online; we review and answer within five business days; you sign the agreement in the creator portal and post a pre-trip announcement; then you travel, publish within 30 days of your last travel day, and upload proof of every post in the portal.

    We verify reach, engagement and audience geography, then give you an answer either way.

  3. Signed in the portal

    Step 3: Agreement

    Inclusions, dates, deliverables and disclosure wording, agreed and signed before anything is booked.

  4. Within 30 days

    Step 4: Travel & publish

    Announce the trip before you go, then publish within 30 days of your last travel day, tagging @expleradmc.

The four steps

  1. Apply. Fill in the application on this site: your channels, your blog or website, audience data with recent insights screenshots, preferred dates and the Japan experiences you want to film. Apply at least three weeks before you want to travel.
  2. Review — five business days. A Japan reviewer checks your numbers and fit and replies with an approval, an alternative (for example a different season or a Spotlight activity), a waitlist place or a decline with a reason.
  3. Agreement. You sign the agreement in the creator portal. It lists your tier's inclusions, dates, deliverables, tags, links and the disclosure wording for your audience. We then build the itinerary with you.
  4. Travel and publish. Before you fly, publish your pre-trip announcement and upload proof of insurance. After the trip, publish your coverage within 30 days of your last travel day and submit the URL and screenshots for each post.

How long does each stage take?

  • Decision: within five business days, counted on the Japanese business calendar. Japanese public holidays, including the Golden Week and New Year holidays, are not counted.
  • The clock pauses while we are waiting for you — for example if we ask for a fresh insights screenshot. It restarts when you reply in the portal.
  • Scheduling: allow at least one week between signing the agreement and your first travel day, so hotels and guides can be confirmed.
  • Pre-trip: announcement posts and insurance proof are verified before travel starts.
  • Post-trip: every deliverable is due within 30 days of your last travel day.

Everything after the application lives in the creator portal on travelcreators.expleradmc.com: your status timeline, requests from us, the agreement, the itinerary with pick-up times and guide contacts, messages, and the deliverables list with a Submit proof action for each post.
