Adventure creators
Japan's adventure content is less about adrenaline and more about landscape and endurance: early starts at the Fuji Five Lakes, Hakone's volcanic valley, and long days on foot through Kyoto and Tokyo. Drone footage is heavily restricted, and summer weather hides Fuji more often than not, so plans need a fallback.
What works
A Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi day timed for clear-weather mornings, the steps up to the Chureito Pagoda, Owakudani's steam vents when access is open, and walking routes such as Kyoto's eastern hills. Climbing Fuji itself is outside the catalogue.
What to plan for
- Drones need government permission in most scenic and built-up areas, and many sites ban them.
- Typhoons can hit from late summer into autumn; the rainy season runs through June into July.
- Travel insurance must cover the activities you plan to do.
