The Fuji Five Lakes, and Lake Kawaguchi in particular, give creators the classic views of Mt Fuji over water, pagodas and villages. The honest caveat is weather: Fuji is often hidden by cloud, especially in summer. Hosted Fuji days are planned for early mornings and a flexible date where the itinerary allows.

When to come
The colder months, roughly late autumn to early spring, give the best chance of a clear view, usually in the early morning. Summer is humid and often cloudy. Cherry blossom and autumn colour are beautiful and bring heavy crowds and traffic. The official climbing season is in summer; climbing is not part of the hosted day.
Getting around on a hosted trip
The Fuji day runs from Tokyo, with transport to and around the lakes included as part of the activity. It is a long day: allow for road traffic on weekends and holidays.
Filming notes
- Some famous viewpoints sit in residential streets, and local authorities have introduced measures to manage crowds there. Respect barriers and residents.
- Drone rules vary around the lakes and shrines, and many areas prohibit flights. Check for the specific site and date; assume no unless confirmed.
- The Chureito Pagoda view involves a long flight of steps. Pack light.
